We ran two evening workshops as part of POW Whitechapel. Twenty-seven people attended Social Media for Improvers and 7 people attended our Professional Websites on a Budget workshop.
When asked, the reasons that had prevented investment in digital marketing were finding the time, followed by knowing what type of digital marketing activity to choose for their business, followed by the cost.
When pressed further, traders were not confident about their ability to organise digital marketing. The biggest challenge for businesses was found to be their lack of knowledge about the costs of digital marketing, followed by lack of knowledge about where to go, and finally lack of knowledge about what to ask.
Over 50% of businesses wanted help with social media, either to improve an existing account or create a new social media account. Our Facebook Ads workshop was the next most popular request.
