Over twenty of East London's Roman Road businesses attended the POW Workshop evening. The evening consisted of three workshops that focused specifically on digital marketing for high street businesses.
Digital Mum Ruth Gilbey gave a talk on social media for small businesses. Questions from the floor included which social media platform was best for each business, how much time was needed to spend on social media each week, the best efficiency and scheduling tools to use, whether a Facebook site could replace a website, how to optimise social media platforms, how many posts should be published each day or week, and how to create a social media strategy.
The is was followed by a talk from Josh Gutteridge from Regency Creative who talked about branding for high street businesses, how to present a professional brand on a budget, what were the best choices for websites, how much budget should be spend on website, how to strengthen a brand with logo and colours, and the importance of sharing posts and networking with other high street businesses.
The evening finished with a workshop on search engine optmisation (seo) from Chris Simmance of Optus Digital who explained the meaning the keywords, the difference between short and long tail keywords, the best tools for finding keywords, the importance of Google Analytics and how to optimise content.
